About Seaweed Spa Treatments: Algotherapy

"The body is an organ composed of all the most mysterious things which are in the world of nature." (Swedenborg A.C. 4523)

Algotherapy is a Luxurious skin treatment therapy. It uses seaweed in the bath, or applied to the skin as a warm paste and then wrapped, even applied as a herbal poultice, which is absorbed through the skin.

The Seaweed Spa Paste recipe has a longer drying time than the Seaweed Jelly, therefore, depending on what other ingredients you mix with it, such as clay, oil, or herbs, can result in deep pore cleaning, or very deep moisturizing treatments - excellent for problem-skin therapy used with the herbal treatments.

The seaweed spa wrap recipes in this chapter use unprocessed seaweed Paste made from pureed seaweed - not seaweed extracts. These treatments are very intense. Think of them as $1,000 an ounce, better than any commercial chemically treated spa product - unless they make their own like this.

Adding Red & Green Seaweeds to your Spa Treatments

The Brown Seaweeds offer-up Luxurious sensual gelling and moisturizing gels, whereas the red and green seaweeds contain additional minerals and nutrients, more preferable for medicinal treatments. Therefore, mixing the different species together means we obtain the Luxurious sensual texture of the brown kelp, but improve the medicinal properties by adding another species, either red or green.

These Spa treatments are the area to add any of the many other varieties of seaweed to your mix. Since the Spa treatments are applied warm the results can be quite spectacular, in fact elbows and knees respond really well to this type of deep moisturizing treatment. Try it - you will be amazed! I
